Is Ai Macro Photography “CHEATING” ?

Macro photography has always held a special place in my heart as my preferred method of capturing moments. Ever since childhood, I’ve been captivated by the intricacies of the tiny world that often escapes our notice. There’s an undeniable charm in discovering the minute details and textures that become visible when you approach subjects up close.

Unfortunately, due to my disability, it has become nearly impossible for me to venture out and pursue my beloved hobby. However, with the advent of AI technology, I’ve found a way to indulge in macro photography from the comfort of my recliner. Some might argue that creating AI-generated photos, especially macros, is akin to “cheating,” but I beg to differ.

Consider the parallels between setting up a traditional camera, choosing the right lens, optimizing lighting conditions, and selecting the perfect subject – all of which are essential in traditional photography. In creating AI-generated macros, one must go through a similar process. Furthermore, when you snap a photo with your camera, you are essentially capturing a digital image, not dissimilar to creating a digital AI-generated photo.

Certainly, there are physical differences between the two approaches. Traditional photography entails heading outdoors to locate a subject, arranging lighting and bounce cards, and configuring camera settings, often necessitating the use of a tripod. However, in the realm of AI-generated imagery, achieving the desired results involves meticulous keyword and phrase adjustments. Even after obtaining that ideal shot, post-processing in tools like Photoshop is often required – mirroring the retouching and enhancement procedures typical in traditional photography. In essence, both avenues demand dedication and skill to craft a compelling visual narrative.
