There’s nothing like the power going out to make you realize just how much we depend on it in our daily lives. It always gives me a moment to pause and reflect on how grateful I am for everything it provides.
It’s a bitterly cold winter day, and the wind is howling outside. Naturally, the first thing that comes to mind is heat—how thankful I am for the warmth that power brings into our home. Then I think about light. In just a few more hours, it’ll be dark outside, and I’m reminded of how much I appreciate the light that electricity gives us.
Feeling a bit hungry, my thoughts turn to the refrigerator—the silent worker that keeps our food fresh, frozen, and ready to use. That makes me think about all the other kitchen appliances that make preparing meals so much easier, and I feel truly grateful for them, too.
As boredom starts to creep in, I realize how much we rely on devices for entertainment—from the computer to the router, to the TV, and beyond. These things keep us connected, informed, and entertained, and I’m thankful for all of it.
A quick bathroom break brings another reminder: without power, there’s no water for flushing the toilet or washing hands. The pump and the hot water heater are unsung heroes of daily comfort, and I’m deeply appreciative of them as well.
In a way, I’m even grateful for this brief power outage—it’s given me the chance to reflect on how much we rely on electricity and how thankful I am for it when it’s there. It’s a good reminder not to take it for granted.
The song is based on the above post, I hope you enjoy it!
